To download the software for hard drive installation, click on the file name in the column below for your product and save it to an empty directory on your hard drive. Then execute the file you downloaded to expand it into the complete installation file set. Finally, follow the instructions provided in the User Guide to begin installation. |

NAV Command Line Scanner
for DOS and Windows 3.x/95/98 FAT disk partitions ONLY | User Guide | NAVCMAIN.EXE (01/28/2003) Download and execute this archive file, then follow the instructions in the User Guide to create a set of emergency scanning diskettes. The command-line scanner is to be used when a "Rescue Disk" set is not available and cannot be made from a copy of NAV installed on the hard drive. The NAVC software must be updated periodically to be effective; download the "Virus Definition Update Installer" from the NAV for DOS/Windows 3.x product section on Symantec's "Download Updates" Web page. |

If you receive an error message when installing SAV for Vista 64, it may be because the installer does not have sufficient privileges to perform its tasks, EVEN IF you are logged on as an administrator. Try these steps: From the "Run" command, open a command prompt in administrator mode by typing CMD in the dialog box, then holding Ctrl-Shift as you press Enter. The command prompt window should open and the title bar should include the word Administrator. Then navigate to the folder where the installation files were unzipped and launch the installer either by typing the name of the .msi file or the setup.exe file. |
